Inter genre level design trends

This document will go over the work I have done towards my research for capstone towards finding out inter-genre common trends of level design. It will cover information about different definitions of level design and viewpoints towards level design. It will also cover information about the three level design projects I worked on in a 8 week period. I worked on two FPS games, far cry 5 and counter strike : global offensive , one FPS driven by narrative and another driven by mechanics respectively. I also worked on stronghold crusader 2 a RTS war game. I got to learn different tools provided by the publishers for level design and had fun creating levels that used design trends from other genres. These are of course not fully polished levels but they do cover the basic necessities and serve purpose of highlighting certain mechanics and strategies. read the entire documentation of all three projects and research with the link below.
