Color IT is a 2D puzzle game designed to draw attention towards the inconveniences caused to people with color blindness due to poor color choices in UI designs. As part of a game development class we were given a prompt to develop a serious game that focused on colorblindness. I handled production and puzzle design on the project with a team of four others as part of team Angry Moths.

Puzzle design - Color IT

Color IT is a serious 2D puzzle game, designed to draw attention to the inconvenience caused by poor choice of colors in UI elements to people who are colorblind. During initial brain storm our team decided to create a game that is played from the perspective of a color blind student in a university environment. One of our teammate came up with the idea of Door OS and we decided to design a pseudo OS environment where as a student player has to submit an assignment. But the OS as is designed poorly and the color pallet is extremely hard to navigate for people who are colorblind. We decided to provide 3 different lens settings for three major types of colorblindness and as the puzzle designer I designed puzzles around changing the lenses to be able to see through different parts of the puzzles to be able to solve it. This was a 5 month project created as part of a game development course where every team had different subject matter experts. For our team I was the SME of production.
